COLLECTOR INFORMATION

Hello and welcome to something different about rarity,When we think about the rare we automaticaly think about the expensive and the most well known, Like the Weetabix or Lyons van,the very rare and expensive promotoional models the colors of the Fodens and the very rare pre war items.

Well this is a little different you see in reality we see these items for sale often at the auctions and at our favourite dealers so are they rare or are they just very very desirable.I guess a little of both.

Over the 30 years or so that I have collected Dinky Toys my interest has been with them all the common,the not so common and the rare and every now and again we come across something that we dont see very often or never see again,its rare but because its very rare and maybe a version of a very common item and sometimes its either the very first of last issue,its never on any list and overlooked by many collectors because its not something that they are looking for or not very desirable. Here are a few items on my list of rare items for you to look for whether they are desirable ill leave up to you.condition should not be important as in many cases in 30 years I have not seen many and sometimes these are the only ones I have seen.

The Land Rover in 27d and trailer 27m in blue,Yes we have seen a couple of the trailers at the auctions but have you seen a land rover.It had to be there somewhere didnt it.

25p.Road rollers in orange,Lime green (Had a few of these but hard to find)and just for kicks a promotional for Aveling-Barford

Fork lifts 14c in red and dark brown.

Standard Vanguard 40e in Light Green.(and Yes I do know where there is a mint one)

Rear Tipping wagon 30m in maroon.

Fordson Thames flat truck 30r in Brown

Plymouth Plaza 178 with an interior.(From the taxi 265-266) Very last issue

Austin Atlantic 106 in Red.

Jaguar E type 120 in metallic blue.

Fire engine 555 with brown ladder.(First Issue)you have to look hard for these.

Mighty Antar with propeller 908 with removable trailer like the transformer version.(Very Last issue)

Guy Warrior 511 in red and green with rivetted back

Eaton Yale articulated tractor shovel 973. all over yellow.(First issue like the box picture.)Very hard to find.

These are just a few of the many odd things you run across some which you know are there, like the Yale which is on the box (Ok that does not mean a lot the 924 Centaur dump truck is in all yellow on the box but I have never found one ) and the Land Rover which when you find a trailer you know somewhere out there is something to pull it.

I will add to these as time permits there are a lot of them and I have tried to give a cross section of something for everybody to enjoy.

I am always interested in buying items like these in any condition either to add or upgrade my own collection.
